Holy Day of Hekate, Selene and Apollo (Greek)

This is the first day of the runic fortnight of Eoh. The rune, also called Eihwaz, symbolizes the yew tree. That plant – and this period of time – is a bringer of death and dark power, and source of the shaman’s tools.

This is Bairn’s Day in the Medieval traditions. Derived from the tale of King Herod’s slaying of infant boys in ancient times, it is thought to be the unluckiest day of the entire year. We are warned to start no work, and in general to cower indoors and quail in fear lest something bad happen to us.

Naturally, it’s also an Egyptian Day. The advisory is basically the same.
