The Pagan Calendar

Feast of Neith (Egyptian). According to legend Neith emerged from the primeval water to create the world. She followed the course of the Nile to the sea, and when reaching the Delta she formed the city of Sais.

Today is the first day of the Celtic month of Anagantios, according to the Coligny calendar. Literally, that means it’s “Stay-At-Home-Time.” Makes sense: the weather is bad throughout Europe, making it hard to ride, hunt, fight, raid, gather herbs, plant crops, or do anything else worthwhile. If you are smart, and you really sucked up to the bards and other entertainers back when the weather was fair, they may be boarding with you now.
