We have just had one of those summer storms where there is torrential rain for 30 minutes and then it all over and the sun comes out. Unfortunately, it hit just as Lela and I left the supermarket, so ourselves and our groceries got completely soaked. The roads on the way home were up to ankle-deep in the water and the gutters had over-run onto the footpaths. This is what happens when you are have been in drought-condition for over 2 years – leaves block the drains and the water has nowhere to go.
I am heading to a work Xmas dinner in 2 hours time. It is supposed to be outside and have a jumping castle for the kids. Hopefully, everything will dry up by then. I was looking forward to the little brats being kept entertained all evening.
